World Butchers Challenge

France Wins Gold at a Record-Breaking World Butchers’ Challenge 2025 in Paris

The 2025 World Butchers’ Challenge was one for the history books – the largest ever, with 14 competing nations, over 6,000 spectators, and new teams joining from Indonesia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Romania, and Spain.

France secured gold on home soil with a flawless performance, followed by Germany with silver and Australia claiming bronze.

Head Judge David Lishman (Great Britain) praised the champions, saying:

“France delivered a flawless performance, demonstrating precision, teamwork, and innovation in every aspect of their work. Beyond their technical excellence, they showed true passion for the craft.”

A proud moment for Dalebrook Solutions – teams from the UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and Belgium all chose to lead their displays using Dalebrook’s premium food display systems. It’s an honour to support the world’s best butchers as they showcase their skill, creativity, and professionalism on the global stage.

This year also saw the highest number of female competitors in WBC history, with 19 women taking part across the Butchers’ Challenge, the Young Butcher, and the Apprentice competitions – a fantastic milestone for diversity in the industry.

The World Butchers’ Challenge continues to raise the bar for craft butchery worldwide, and we’re thrilled to be a small part of such a big moment.
